World Environment Day | Cleaner, Safer and Better Lighting and Energy

Happy World Environment Day!
Although we celebrate this day during a difficult time when millions of people around the globe are reeling under the impacts of the coronavirus, there have been some silver linings. We are enjoying cleaner air, a richer blue sky that stretches as far as the eye can see, and even marveling at distant mountains that were last seen decades ago. These have been the unexpected benefits of the low carbon emission footprint this year. And true to the resilience of the human spirit, people are beginning to slowly get back to their normal lives. But we know, as well as you do, that we can continue to make a difference in reducing the carbon footprint in small, but meaningful ways.
Especially through our off-grid partners in China. As a sector, we have globally reduced at least 66.6 million metric tons of CO2 and black carbon emission through the replacement of kerosene lamps. As Lighting Global celebrates its tenth year, we remain hopeful that with your support the next ten years will be even greater. Together, we can reach the remaining 789 million people who still live without electricity and provide them with cleaner, safer and better lighting and energy, building a better more resilient environment for us all.
