Keeping the Light | A Letter from Itotia Njagi

Last week, we celebrated Earth Day. Never has this day meant so much in the last 50 years since it was established. There is no doubt that we are living through a crisis and witnessing an unprecedented response. Around the world, people are in lockdown to try to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
And while silver linings may seem hard to come by these days, it’s really heartwarming to see the various ways in which our off-grid industry has responded to this challenge.
Collectively, we have found a way under extremely difficult situations, to continue providing energy access to those who have too long been without, and in the process provided some level of comfort to them. It may appear like a small gesture, but it means a great deal for the communities you serve in these times. We admire and greatly respect your determination and resolve in forging ahead despite the overwhelming challenges that you face.
Your work has not gone unnoticed. The communities you serve value your work. Governments have embraced your work as a key pillar in their response. And we at Lighting Global salute your work.
Keep the light.
